Beam and Ball Clock Pt1

Christmas this year didn’t bring any new models, although there was a very nice set of modelling tools. But there were some construction toys to be built.

first of these was a ball and beam clock, lots of mechanical bits and pieces to put together. I will leave it till the end of this project to explain what a ball and beam clock is, it will be apparent by then.

first to be screwed together is the main frame

then the clock dial and electric mechanism are added

then the main support for the chiming mechanism

to which is attached the chime support itself

and the timing cog for the chime. This suffered a fracture during assembly so has had to be repaired and the clock will be finished in tomorrow’s post
