Airfix Sea King
OK, so what to build next? After the last tranche of kits I feel the need for something a little more modern
Cue Airfix’s latest retooling of the Westland Sea king, now available as a starter kit with paints, glue, and a brush. not that I will use the paint, although beloved likes the resealable pots so she can have those.
The plastic is lovely and crisp, with lots of spares (Count those rotor blades!) and an interesting way of presenting the door glazing.
The nice modern two tone instructions nice and clear. Even with a suffix for those who want to motorise their model.
Only one colour scheme, for the Prince of Wales’ Search and Rescue ship. However much as I like the yellow, I have already built the earlier pressing in this scheme. So I have elected to go with…
A Royal Navy SAR scheme in marine grey
This means I can pretty much use the supplied decals as is with only slight modification of the serial numbers.
