A beach of a day
Thursday we went to the beach.
We started at St Combs, recommended locally as a beautiful beach with expansive walks. The best bit we found that we could actually find reasonable access to was this small cove. There is a six mile stretch on the east coast but we could not find a way onto it without clambering over huge dunes.
so we repaired to Fraserburgh and, once again, it did not fail us. Warm sun..
and an almost deserted beach stretching off into the distance. We did little more than stroll along the beach awhile, then sit idly just enjoying the peace and weather (Though I did get sunburnt on my ever thinning crown)
Oh, and we watched the boats, this is the Grampian Contender, a harbour response and rescue boat, out, we presume on manoeuvres of some sort. here as it came out of the harbour followed by what we presume is the harbour pilot. when the fishing boats started to come out for their evening trawls we decided it was time to head back to the lodge.
