Saturday was spent popping into Fraserburgh again, this time to the town centre to visit the sights there
Sadly the Burgh Hall was closed
As were the Kirk and Mausoleum
Disappointed we wandered down to the harbour, there to enjoy a leisurely stroll amongst the fishing boats in what was turning out to be a gloriously sunny day. Some comings and goings to watch, with the old fishing boats
and the modern fleets moored at the cannery
And then, a seal, happily swimming between the boats
wandering back into town we saw the local pest control, Falconry to scare off the seagulls and stop them roosting on the roofs.
Finally, on the way out of town a visit to the kirkyard. Among the many graves that caught beloved’s eye was this. “Adam Porter … Late Mason … Lonmay” Could he have helped build Cairness House, or even the gatehouse lodge? Given the dates it is very likely.
