Wooden it be nice

Now the painting is finished, Time for some wood effects.

??????????????????????

I had considered paint effects, but they never seem to work out terribly well, and looking at this footplate would be a nightmare to apply.

??????????????????????

So, after some sanding a trial fitting of wood effect film, which really seems rather good. the ragged edges to the holes will all be hidden once pieces are fitted so I am not worried about those.

??????????????????????

As demonstrated in this test fit of the steering column. I will leave this overnight to see if the adhesion is ok, or think up another plan.
