No you are not seeing double!
I had a change of mind about the holder for the bullet proof screen. The aluminium finished looked too pale, and to add insult to injury, painting the last coats I got contamination in the paint, leaving lumps in the surface, and runs on the sides of the holder. So, I sanded the whole thing smooth and elected to respray in gun metal.
